FAQ about our ink cartridge recycling program

How many ink cartridges is the minimum shipment?
  • You need to mail in 10 or more empty ink cartridges to qualify for the free shipping label.
What is the minimum shipment if I mail in only EPSON ink cartridges?
  • Each shipment must be a minimum of 50 original OEM EPSON ink cartridges. Please do not mail in any compatible or remanufactured ink cartridges. All cartridges must be in original condition, not tempered or manipulated in any way. If you mail in less than 50 there will be no refund.
Can I mail in EPSON with my other empty ink cartridges?
  • Yes, as long as you send in more than 10 empty ink cartridges

When and how fast do I get paid to recycle ink cartridges?

  • We pay immediately with processing your shipment by check or PayPal.

What comes with the check or PayPal transaction?

  • You will receive with each shipment (see a Sample Statement TID), 1x new shipping list, 1x new free prepaid return label, 1x three fold brochure and your check by USPS mail for recycle ink cartridges.

Why do you not provide recycling boxes for my ink cartridge recycling shipments?

  • It is not very environmental friendly to ship empty and new boxes. We burn energy for nothing and we pollute the environment even more. Everyone has a used shipping box, just remove the old address labels and reuse this box again, this is part of my recycling philosophy and it works great for everyone. This is free and easy and you have recycled even your old cardboard boxes.

How do I pack the ink jet cartridges inside the box?

  • Best is in the original box, or you can use a piece of newspaper to protect cartridges from damages. Please do not use any tape to seal the print head or use rubber band to bundle the cartridges. If the cartridges are too tight and you will have a lot of broken cartridges! Never put the cartridges in bulk into the shipping box!

Can any one participate on this free recycling program for used ink jet cartridges?

  • Yes, keep collecting used ink jet cartridges and mail them in.

I do not want any money, but I want to mail in my used ink cartridges. What do I do?

  • Just fill out the shipping list and the prepaid shipping label with your address and make a note that you do not want any money.

  • Please make sure that you are not sending in laser toner cartridges and Canon plastic tanks.

How many ink jet cartridges can I send in?

  • As many you can get to recycle ink cartridges.

What type of ink cartridges do I accept for my ink cartridge recycling program?

  • I can accept only OEM cartridges. For a complete list to recycle ink cartridges please see: Cartridge Purchase List

What is the best shipping box and where to get them?

  • You can get boxes at any USPS location. Please don't use USPS "PRIORITY MAIL" Envelope or box for your shipment. Or just use any used shipping box you have, this is 100% recycling, but make sure that all old labels are removed.

Can I use pictures and text from this web site to make our flyers to recycle ink cartridges?

  • Yes, you are welcome to do this, but you need to mention that this is done with permission of freerecycling.com.

Do you accept previously recycled ink cartridge?

  • No, only ink cartridges in original condition. Please see all the details on our shipping list.

How can I donate my refund to a Non Profit Organization or School?

  • Just go to Donation Directory and find the Account No. and select your favorite Organization or School you would like to support. Add this account number to the shipping list. I will send the check to this Organization.

Compatible Cartridges

  • Generic cartridges are specially manufactured to meet OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications.

How to refer a Friend how does not have a computer?

Do you accept never used or expired original ink cartridges?

  • Yes, they will be accepted and paid like an empty used ink cartridge.

Remanufactured Cartridges

  • Remanufactured cartridges have been recycled to meet OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications. The recycling and reprocessing process involves disassembling, inspecting, cleaning, replacing worn parts, reassembling, and filling the ink. Once the remanufacturing process is complete, the cartridge is then print tested, sealed, and packaged for resale.

What is my Referral ID # for recycling ink cartridges?

  • Your Referral ID # is your customer account #. You can use it to refer all your friends and you can write it on the three fold brochure. The customer account application has in the first line the "Referral ID #", if there is your account number, you will get the 20% from the "Refer a Friend" program.
